I know, me too. There was a sense of impending doom hanging over the entire thing. When I saw Bubbles's hanging body I actually cried out in horror, although at least he didn't actually die. That would have been too much for me. Although the rest was upsetting enough - even today, when I think of Dukie turning up to give Prez the Christmas present I feel all tearful. And poor little Randy! All those kids were such awesome characters - I'm glad that at least Namond got a decent ending (and I loved that final shot of the hilarious Donut grooving down the road in his latest stolen car).

And man, Bodie! He was one of my favourite characters, despite the awfulness of Wallace's murder. I loved how exasperated he always seemed by the little details of drug dealing, and his relationship with the cops was really funny and strangely sweet - there was a genuine sort of respect and even affection between them. The scene in which he and Poot and their dates meet Herc and Carver and their dates in the cinema was hilarious, especially when Bodie goes "okay, see you tomorrow" in a perfectly reasonable way, as if they were going to meet in the office. And I found it strangely touching, in a fucked up way, that he went down fighting, defending his corner.
