evil nostalgia

So, David Blunkett wants to bring back not only internment but secret trials which will not be required to prove the suspect's guilt "beyond reasonable doubt" but only on "probability"? I HATE THAT MAN. Now the British Muslim community can enjoy all the fun experienced by the Irish community in the '70s. Oh, the nostalgia. Bring on the random arrests and life sentences....and maybe successful appeals 25 years later.

I heard about this on Radio 4's Today programme this morning, but thanks to daegaer for this link, which gives more info.

Mr Blunkett believes the nature of the "new global suicide terrorism" means it may now be necessary to keep evidence in a terrorism case secret even from British defendants and their lawyers in order to protect intelligence sources.

Shades of Atty Gen'l Ass-croft.
