everyday story of scary folk

I missed tonight's episode of The Archers, so I just listened to it online. And,

That was horrible. Very, very good radio drama, but terribly upsetting. I actually started crying when Kathy started sobbing in the shower, and even though I'm addicted to the Archers, I'm never usually moved to tears by it. I think that the introduction of Scary Owen was done too quickly - he only became a speaking part a couple of months ago, and I think it would have worked better if they'd given his character much longer to develop before turning him into scary misogynist rapist - but it was still horribly convincing tonight. Especially the way he gave her her coat and walked her home, convinced that he hadn't done anything wrong.

By the way, has anyone else had any problems posting on the BBC message boards? I've registered ages and ages ago and can log in, but when I try to actually post I get a mail back saying my registration isn't complete (even though it is, and I've sent back the confirmation e-mail).

It was really well done, dramatically, but really upsetting. Which is the point, really, I suppose.

normally I listen to it while i'm sewing but today I cooked tea for my mum and missed out completely. The Archers rules.

I didn't hear it! But the Heretickal One phoned me at 7.16 to say OH MY GOD because that's what we do.

I signed up for the boards for the first time tonight after reading lots of the responses. It didn't work for me to just reply to the email with the text included: I had to actually cut and paste it so the blue line wasn't there (assuming you're using Mail as well?)

And look! My very first post!

Bollocks! Not that one, this one.

Oooh, I do have the blue line - I must cut and paste, then. And, hurrah for your post! I agree with everything you said, by the way.

Are you going to listen to it tomorrow? As I said, it was well done but horrible - evil Owen walks Kathy home, him chatting away as if they just had a nice date while she says nothing, and when she gets in she just starts sobbing and it's very, very upsetting. It's almost more upsetting because you can't see what's going on - brilliant radio.

Yes, I will! Though now I've read the synopsis, heard it from the Heretickal One and read the message boards, there aren't going to be too many surprises.

It's worth listening to - at least you know what's coming so it won't be such a shock!
