listen to my mates!

Because I am currently in love with the new songs of my friend Angeline's band, the magnificently named Ambassadors of Sorrow, I feel the urge to share their genius with you all. As you can hear on those MP3s, they sound like a cross between Francoise Hardy and Sandy Denny, which is of course a perfect combination as far as I'm concerned. Absolutely and utterly gorgeous - I'm listening to a seven track sampler CD of it right now.

And in the spirit of promoting the lovely music of lovely people, click here to hear one of my favourite songs by my charming paramour: 'Leave the Past Behind'. The sound quality isn't perfect, but still.

Pah. Stupid work web-blocker-outer and its stupid blocking out of all MP3s - it sounds like their music would be very much my cup of tea, and I want to listen to it RIGHT NOW.

Oooh, you'd absolutely love it. I can burn you a copy, if you like (or you could buy their first ep from the site).

If you could make me a copy, that'd be lovely - I promise I'll buy an EP if I like it! Though probably not until after I am paid. Damn you, January.

Hee! Which one do you love?

I love the whole aesthetic of her voice and her rhythmic sensibility... lovely. It's hard to choose, but I especially love the groove of Loathsome Food.

I also lurve the one by your charming paramour; it has such a cute groove (am I allowed to say that?).

Yeah, she has one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard. And her songs are all fucking amazing too.

And yes, you are allowed to say that the paramour's song is cute! It's actually very atypical of his usual music, but I love it, mostly because of his vocals in it, I think. Now you know what he sounds like!

The ten seconds of "Mean This Chastely" that I was able to load was absolutely lovely! If I manage to learn some patience in the next sixty seconds I'll try loading another one.

Do! All the songs are brilliant.

I absolutely love "I mean this chastely", I've been listening to it over and over. Will have to think about buying the EP thingy.

Do it! DO IT! And if you're ever in Cornwall, you could go and see them live...
