I love you FedEx!

Okay, I take it back. I spent yesterday bitching about how much I hated couriers and how they sent me nothing but rubbish, and then what happened? The two new Persephone books arrived, as did another very entertaining book about a man who decided to read the entire Encyclopaedia Britannica. So yes, even though another courier arrived this morning just after I'd washed my hair and I had to answer the door wreathed in towels, it's not that bad, really.

Ooh, Persephone! Which books did you get? I'm still agonising over which book to choose as my prize from the fundraiser.

The brand new Spring books, which aren't out yet! They're Virginia Woolf's Flush and Dorothy Whipple's They Were Sisters. As for your own selection, if you don't have them yet I'd recommend Richmal Crompton's Family Roundabout or Whipple's The Priory, or Margharita Lanski's The Village, or Jocelyn Playfair's House in the Country - aargh, too many good books! I can't choose either!

Ooh, I have Flush! Not the Persephone one, obviously. I've never read it though (I found the concept irresistible, but then never got around to actually, you know, opening the book), so tell me how it is.

Which do you already have, and what kind of novels do you prefer?

Job app successfully posted, btw.
