I fucking hate my annoying neighbours. No, seriously.

This morning I was making my first cup of tea of the day when I heard a piteous whining sound coming from outside. I went out to the backgarden and found it was coming from their garden - they've got a yappy little Jack Russell called Holly, and I assumed it was her. She sounded quite distressed and I wanted to make sure she was okay, but the fence between our gardens is abouteight feet high, so I went upstairs to look in to the garden from David's room, which is at the back of the house.

And when I looked down into their garden I saw not Holly, but a tiny little russet coloured puppy, crying and crying in a state of great distress. I couldn't see Holly, but I assume she was there too because I could hear her barking angrily at the puppy. I called out and the puppy looked up and saw me, and ran over to the fence in an obvious attempt to reach me (which meant I couldn't see it anymore). There's nothing I can do, though - I talked to the puppy for a while, which stopped it crying, but as soon as I stopped speaking it starting whining again. I obviously can't stay there all day, and even if I did, I can't get into it if Holly attacks it.

What sort of pricks get a tiny puppy and treat it like that? I mean, it's bad enough that they leave their horrible teenage children alone every single weekend*, but neglecting a tiny puppy and leaving it with an aggressive little terrier? They are fucking horrible and I hate them.

*I should add that I am not one of those creepy people who think that mistreatment of animals is worse than mistreatment of humans - hell, I eat meat - but as I said in comments, I'm used to their apparent indifference towards the kids, but the mistreatment of animals is a revolting novelty.
