Goodbye, Helen Cresswell.

You were a geenius and allways rigt.

And you wrote what have been some of my favourite books since I was very young. This news makes me very, very sad.

:-(

I love Lizzie Dripping and the Bagthorpe Saga. This is such sad news.

It's awful news. I love the Bagthorpes, particularly, so much.

Me too. They so reminded me of a more extreme version of my own family (lj user=wonderlanded> can confirm the similarities), and they were so, so funny. And still are, over 20 years after I read them first. They're the books I quote in conversation before realising that hardly anyone else will get it.

I have a copy of Bagthorpes v. the World, and I am going to sit and read it and raise - let's see, what do I have? - a half-chewed rice cake in honour of Ms Cresswell.

Oh no! That's very sad news. I must borrow the Bagthorpe books for a commemorative re-read from you.

I remember watching the Moondial series on TV and just adoring it. I'm sad about that.
