What good luck!

My parcel of presents ordered from Buy Olympia arrived today, just a few days after I ordered them.

What bad luck!

The t-shirt I ordered FOR MYSELF was not in the parcel. Curses! I have mailed Buy Olympia to tell them this, but I hope they don't think I'm some sort of scam artist. Also, have American Apparel girlie shirts got bigger? A medium used to be an our-side-of-the-Atlantic size 10 (a US 6) and have always fitted me perfectly, but the ones they sent in this order look larger than that. Hmmmm.

Actually, I tried one of them on (even though it is not for me) and I don't think they really have changed much - I think they've got a bit longer. But they fit in the shoulders and the small would fit but would probably be a bit unflatteringly bra-strap showing. The medium is meant to be size 8-10 (our sizes) so small is a size 6, which I am obviously not.

A tiny part of your present was also in the parcel! It was not a t-shirt, though.

I am still vaguely sick but am meeting the Mozzer for lunch tomorrow! Was Narnia (and my enemy's speech) good?

Irrelevantly, how is 8-10 our sizes a medium anything? What am I, a fucking dairy cow?

Ah, I am just jealous about all the talk of present shopping! I am skint. But I have just used the girlie's money to buy Gnome this.

Fantastic Gnome-gift! Is it wrong that I would love a grown-up sized one on which I would zoom around the house? So much fun.

I am pretty skint myself, but the presents were actually pretty affordable, even for me. The curse of having three sisters, though, is that Christmas is very expensive - they each require a decent gift! This year, however, they are practically getting matching presents.

Ah, to bring together the two elements of the comment again, I bet the large size would bear your sylph-like weight nicely.

Also: ooh, are your sisters getting the same present in different colours? And is it wearable? And if so can we have a picture of them looking like 50s sisters on a postcard?

Also, re: the sizing: I know! It's ridiculous! The only company I know that does decent sizing is Built By Wendy, in which I am an extra-small (and a small in skirts, thanks to my large arse). Even though I know there are lots of teenagers (and adults) skinnier than I am, I am well aware that as someone who is several sizes smaller than the national average, my clothing size shouldn't be a "medium".

Clothing size is so insane and varied anyway - I am an 8 in skirts in Oasis (aka crazy-land, since there is no way I could squeeze into that size anywhere else) while a 12 can be quite snug in Spanish shops like Mango.

I love my Watchers' Retreat t-shirt that you got me, it's really the perfect size - not too tight, not too loose and long enough so that I don't have a big gap between my jeans and my top.
