Musical Youth

Survey stolen from goovie!

1. A song you never get tired of, no matter how many times you hear it: 'Nothing New'(the Dust Brothers mix) by April March. It is a perfect song. Poppy and lovely and swoony.

2. Two artists you fell in love with as soon as you heard one song by them, and where you were when you heard them:
R.E.M. I heard 'Stand' back in 1988, on the music programme on the now-defunct cable station Super Channel, which used to play really good music and weird old 60s crime shows.
Laura Nyro. I found a copy of The Rock Machine, an old CBS compilation album from the '60s with 'Stoned Soul Picnic' on it, and utterly adored it.

3. Three albums that you associate with your high school years:
The La's album.
The Stone Roses: The Stone Roses
Throwing Muses: The Real Ramona

4. Four albums that you associate with your college years:
Liz Phair:Exile in Guyville
Tom Waits:Closing Time
Mazzy Star: She Hangs Brightly
Chet Baker Sings

5. The five albums you've listened to the most times:
What, ever? Okay, this isn't going to be accurate, but I'll hazard a guess....
Nick Drake: Five Leaves Left
Liz Phair:Exile in Guyville
Throwing Muses: The Real Ramona/Hunkpapa
The Pixies: Surfer Rosa
