Thank you to all the needlework queens who gave me such good advice about crocheting! You have all filled me with fresh confidence (and I seem to have figured out how to increase. Next: figuring out how to knit "granny squares" so I can make a blanket).

In other news, Patsington announced that he finds golden snub nosed monkeys "scary". Really! I mean, I can imagine it would be quite scary if you woke up to find one standing over you, glowering at you. But in general...well, I suppose they do have weird noses. And blue faces, a la the monkeys in The Wizard of Oz. And pitch black eyes. And they do resemble something from Jim Henson's workshop. So perhaps they are a little bit scary. But it's all part of their simian charm!

Isn't it?

I think I think "simian charm" is an oxymoron. I like apes, but monkeys are ... *shudder*
