no eggsageration

Question: if you brunched yesterday on eggs benedict, aka eggs in EGG SAUCE, is it a good idea to breakfast today on poached egg on toast? I love eggs, but that feast yesterday was so rich I couldn't eat anything else until nine last night (whereupon I ate noodles while watching Cary Grant in Howard Hawks's I Was a Male War Bride, which is the first time I've seen female senior army officers on film. Very entertaining, too).

Anyway - more eggs, aye or nay?

But, see, if you ate five eggs yesterday, that's five days' worth, right? However -- and this is important -- there are probably many days in your nearly 31 years on this planet on which you did NOT have eggs, and therefore, you may have your eggs and count them toward your egg quota for days gone by.

I dunno, I do eat a lot of eggs, so even though there are lots of days in which I didn't eat any eggs, there are also lots of days in which I ate two or three! So it may all balance out.

Well, I don't eat a lot of eggs, though I am going to make a massive omelette for dinner tomorrow (I have lots of eggs to use up before they go off). However, I have many, many days to date on which I did not eat any eggs at all, and so you can have some of my egg allowance, if you really want your poached eggs today.
