It's freezing cold, lashing rain and so dark I think I'll have to put the lights on. I think glitzfrau is right - Ireland has reached a Narnia-like stage of mono-weather, with no summer to speak of. Seriously, this has been the worst Spring in years, and now we're not even getting the proverbial "nice week in May" that we usually get. You know, so when it's wet and windy in August we can sit around going "and remember we had that nice week in May when it was sunny and hot?" Not this year, alas.

Bah. I am feeling very grumpy. I wanted to take a break from my labours (such as they are) and go for a walk but I can't bring myself to do it in this hideous drizzle. AND the robins have gone. AND I feel like something is trying to eat its way out of my womb (now there's a nice description of revolting cramps for you). Cheer me up, LJ chums!

Maybe your womb is actually trying to take over the world. After all, this is why there are laws...

I dunno! I'm also in my house looking out at the crappy weather, and feeling rather glum about it all. Bah. But I'm happy it was nice yesterday, as I don't think I would have made the run to Howth on this soft day.

It's supposed to be nice tomorrow and Wednesday, though!

Huh, I'll believe it when I see it.

You need boots and a sou-wester and to go and splash through puddles, and then come home and probably have a bath. But in the event you're not actually Christopher Robin, um, you could do me a meta-recap of a Jacob Doctor Who recap? Might not cheer you up, but it certainly would me.

I went for a walk, as per your suggestion! And it was lovely and misty and the view over the hills from the top of the park was gorgeous - the mist hid all the new(ish) buildings so it was like looking out into the past. Also, I got entangled with the lead of a small Cavalier King Charles puppy. It was a great walk!

And I will do the meta-recap once the next recap is up (don't make me re-read one of the earlier ones, please), if only to make up for being a bad friend who hasn't managed to book tickets to visit you yet. *hangs head in genuine sorrow*

Hooray for misty damp walks and gambolling puppies!

And, welcome though the meta-recap will certainly be (I wait on tenterhooks to see what he makes of The Empty Child), you are in fact a very good friend, just mostly distant.

I agree with cangetmad about the sweater and boots and sploshing walk. The drizzle may look awful, but the air will do you good. Perhaps also buy an apple turnover or some other hot pastry? This is always my solution on cold drizzly days, so feel free to ignore.

Also, I made you a sign to tape to your stomach area:

I love Microsoft Paint far too much for my own good.

Ha! That's brilliant. hank you so much!

And, I don't have any pastries, but I do have some rather nice organic orange and vanilla biscuits from Marks and Spencer, so I might try them....

Pegg Jongg

Even if The Peggster does not lie within your heart, this is the most addictive thing EVAH. I'm now hoplessly addicted to it, perhaps beyond the point of reason.

Bound to cheer anyone up !

We're only on the 8th day of May. You can't give up on the proverbial "nice week in May" on the 8th day, there's still another 23 days of it left!

I suggest swimming: you're going to get wet anyway by going outside, it does wanders for cramps and it does give you a break from your labours.

Ditto on the weather, the cramps and looking at the gloom outside.

My advice: lots of hot tea, bars of chocolate and a (non-work) book. :)

Heh, I have been taking all of those remedies (plus a walk, see above) and the results have been excellent.

I can't do this myself. It will make me too sad.
