I know I said I'd stop writing about the weather. In fact, I was in the mood for one of my patented "what are you wearing today?" posts. But now I have to combine such sartorial discussion with stupid weather ranting because this is what I was wearing this morning:
Angry 'Knit or Die' t-shirt (it has a ball of wool and knitting needles forming a skull and crossbones!)
Built by Wendy denim skirt
My Camper twins that look like crazy nurse shoes which I got in Paris about four years ago and forgot all about when I moved here three years ago but just found again the other day

And this is what I am wearing now:
Brown little Sleater-Kinney t-shirt over a tight long-sleeved turquoise top
Top Shop midget jeans
Actual wool socks
Brown Converse low-tops

And the reason for this costume change is because while this morning it was sunny and warm, it is now, yet again, freezing and wet, and is far too cold to go out with bare arms, bare legs and shoes with no heels (for the aforementioned crazy nurse Campers are mules). This change in weather happened in a bizarre fashion - I was actually sitting outside in the sun reading the excellent new Meg Rosoff book because I'm interviewing her tomorrow, and it started to rain. But it was still sunny and warm and for a few minutes it was rather nice, like sitting under a sprinkler. And then it stopped being warm, and it stopped being sunny, and now it's all wet and cold and horrible and I'm wearing clothes that wouldn't have been out of place four months ago. Damn you, weather!

Ahem. So, what are you wearing today? And have you had to change it because of the deranged unseasonable weather?

Boring but comfy Oasis jeans, black v-neck tee, necklace of multicoloured translucent plastic rectangles (purchased in Tate Modern a while back), silver Converse low-tops, black socks. Messy hair. No makeup, strange blotch on lip due to hitting self in face with smoothie.

On leaving work, I shall be donning my teal cord jacket and accessorizing with an umbrella.

Dark blue skinny jeans!
Red H&M vest!
Turquoise v-necked 3/4 tshirt!
Pink angora cardigan!
Obscenely bright paisley headscarf that ties together pink, red and turquoise!

Ebayed Camper trainers! Despite the fact that they don't really go with skinny jeans mutter mutter, and I really want to be wearing my white or bronze slippers but RAIN.

Rain in summery Berlin? So wrong!

But hurrah for turquoise t-shirts! They are obviously what the well dressed lady is wearing today.

I am wearing the navy-with-vaguely nebula-like batik print skirt I made a couple of years ago, with a very boring scoop-neck tee from Ann Taylor loft and my uber-comfy Dansko sandals. I was intending to wear something entirely different, blue capris with a pink tank and a white shirt over top, but I decided I'd rather wear that outfit next week and I didn't want to have to wash it again before I left. I will have to bring some sort of jacket when I leave the house -- weather.com says it's 70, but the breeze coming in the window doesn't feel 70.

I am wearing my favourite shirt which is even more faded and holey than before but which is the perfect shirt to wear on the first day of periods. I am also wearing jeans and black wedge-heel boots. While I am warm enough inside, every time I go outside I put on my macintosh and my scarf and almost get blown away. The macintosh instead of a cute cardigan or cute cropped hoodie was my concession to the fact that I knew it would rain today.

Jeans, a shirt and a jumper, aka my work uniform. I haven't had to change during the day but that is because the weather has been crap here all day, not just in the afternoon, and also because I haven't left the office. Mutter grumble.

Wearing: for once, not cord trousers! Um, vast quasi-combatty green twill trousers, instead. CND t-shirt and "peacenik" Neighbourhoodie. Green Doc Martens because my No Sweat shoes got drenched in a puddle yesterday. I am keeping an eye on threatening rain because I'll need to take Gnome's tiger raincoat up to nursery when I pick her up if it's raining. And, oh, good lord, I have just realised she's wearing greenish combatty trousers, a t-shirt (yellow with a sheep on) and a zip-up top. AAAAAARGH.

Lots of layers! I have a half-typed up blog entry about the weather too, but you've given me the incentive to finish it.
Today, I've got my red patent pumps on but switched to converse as my feet got cold (and wet) in a shower.
Also had a Sufjan Stevens t-shirt on which has been ditched for pink jumper and cardigan. I was out a while ago and still haven't taken off my leather jacket as I'm chilly.

Oh summer, where for art thou?

I am wearing light blue jeans (one pair of the jeans I bought two of from Next), a black button up three quarter length shirt and my brown sketcher pumps. Also wearing my glasses, the ring I bought in prague, a necklace made of different shaped/patterned disks with beads and three silver bracelets.

And the weather drove me into spending the hour between my final exam and work at work because it was raining. Now that my shift has started, the sun is shining. Bastard weather!

Was wearing: brown cropped trousers, wine sleeveless top, red birkenstocks.

Now wearing: jeans, red long-sleeved top, red hoodie, black socks, blue fake Converse low-tops. Brrr.
May. 18th, 2006 04:25 pm (UTC)
Was wearing: pink vest, floral cotton top with drawstring, faded-ish jeans, maroon cardigan from Penneys, my new Sugar pumps / plimsolls, Hello Kitty socks. Am now wearing: the same as this morning above the waist, but with baggy Freesoul jeans, stripey socks and black converse, as my lower limbs got VERY WET on my way home from work (I am home early, since I have a lot of 'from home' editing to do).
May. 18th, 2006 04:55 pm (UTC)
My redder than red James Connolly t-shirt. A striped brown and white shirt. Jeans. Leather shoes, badly in need of replacing. And cotton socks.

I've got a black mid length jacket to keep me warm when I venture outside.
May. 18th, 2006 05:41 pm (UTC)
Peach camisole and grey yoga pants.

(I'm at home for the day...but the weather is still unseasonable - even Texas in May should not be 95 degrees)
May. 18th, 2006 07:35 pm (UTC)
I'm wearing a picnic-cloth-looking skirt (green stripes with green and yellow floral design), plain black t-shirt, and very cute cork wedge sandals purchased at Target. It's hot and sunny out, but I'm not going to rub that in. It's the first sunny day we've had in ages.
May. 18th, 2006 08:18 pm (UTC)
I'm wearing this dress and a pair of Birkis. It stayed sunny until the early evening here so I only froze when waiting for a bus after yoga.
May. 18th, 2006 09:08 pm (UTC)
It's in the 70's here.

Calf-length loose pink polka dot 80's maternity dress that I tied on the sides so it's not so maternity looking with puffed sleeves and white buttons (thrifted)
White huarache sandals (thrifted)
Big brass hammered earrings ($5 from street vendor)
Gold "Alice" necklace (13th birthday present)
Gold necklace with unicorn charm
Four black jelly bracelets on right wrist worn wrapped around.
Huge oversize aviator glasses ($5 from trashy store)

Yay summer!
May. 20th, 2006 10:05 am (UTC)
A cloak of fustian made, trews of Lincoln Green, a mullet and a quiver of arrows.

No, I did not change for the weather.
