How many keys are on your keychain?
Just one. So there!
What curse word do you use the most?
Do you own an iPod?
Yes, just a tiny shuffle. I am thinking of getting a proper one when I get my next pay cheque.
What time is your alarm clock set for?
How many suitcases do you own?
One crappy wheely one and a decent rucksack.
Do you wear flip-flops even when it's cold outside?
Where do you buy your groceries from?
Mostly the Dunnes supermarket down the road from my house, alas.
Would you rather take the picture or be in the picture?
Take it. I really hate being photographed.
What was the last movie you watched?
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. It was a re-watch of what I seriously think is one of the funniest films ever. Patsington is slightly obsessed with Steve Carrell's character Brick. I myself love Ron's dog Baxter, and in particular the song Ron sings to him as they drive along ("oh Baxter you are my little gentleman, I want to take you to London town...").
If you won the lottery, what's the first thing you would buy?
A lovely big house. Preferably with a nice view.

Yes, and rightly so. I am disgracefully lazy.
Do you ever take medication to help you fall asleep faster?
Never. Even though I find it impossible to sleep when I'm not, like, settled down for the night. I don't really have any problem falling asleep when I'm in a bed or even on a couch or a sleeping bag on someone's floor. But I never doze off on the couch or on public transport - I can't sleep on planes, much as I would like to.

Regular. Ice cold.
Has anyone told you a secret this week?
Not as far as I know.

The awful man in the Bagel Cafe next to the office did so this morning, but he does it to every female under the age of 60. He has become a sort of shuddering joke in the office

All the time.

Somebody from a PR firm
What is your favourite ride at an amusement park?
The Waltzer, like many of you who have answered this poll. I hate scary rides and would never go on a roller coaster, but waltzers are spinny enough to be a bit scary while not feeling dangerous.
Do you think people talk about you behind your back?
Yes, I assume they do sometimes. I don't care as long as I never overhear it.
Did you watch cartoons as a child?
Yes. My sister Busta J and I particularly adored Dogtagnan, and also Jem (she's truly outrageous). What a typically '80s childhood we had. Apart from our obsession with inter-war school stories, of course.
How big is your local mall?
I don't know if it counts, but our local Dunnes has a chemist, a hairdresser and a newsagents attached to it. So, not very big.

Three. One older, two younger, all girls.

Not really. Years of being the only girl in bands has made up for a life that was almost entirely single-sex until I went to college.

Yes, lots. I was wearing my little brown Sleater-Kinney t-shirt yesterday.

Laptop at home, desktop at work.
Which do you make, wishes or plans?
More of the former than the latter.

Miss Hackett, my English teacher from 1988 until I left school in 1993.
Have you ever dated someone out of your race?
No, which isn't really surprising given that (a) we don't really "date" in this country and (b) Ireland was practically mono-ethnic until a few years ago and I happen to belong to the largest ethno-cultural group. I've only ever gone out with one person who wasn't an Irish (technical-)Catholic, and he was an American WASP.

Funniness. Or rather a shared sense of humour
Have you ever been attracted to someone physically unattractive?
Well, if I was attracted to them they must have been attractive in some way, surely? I think most people I've had relationships with have been of about the same level of attractiveness as myself. Make of that what you will.
When was the last time you slept on the floor?
Last summer while staying in Brighton flat.
What is your favourite alcoholic drink?
Good wine. Not that I get it very often, being more of a tenner-a-bottle vino drinker in real life.
Does your closest Starbucks have a drive-thru?
Do you like your living arrangement?
Well, I love living with the bold Patsington and can't imagine doing anything else ever. Ideally his brother would not be living with us too, but to be honest the two of us having our own house (rather than a tiny poky flat) is simply not economically feasible, so there it is. Also D and I get on very well when he's not treating the house like a hotel grumble grumble...
How many hours of sleep do you need to function?
Seven at the very least
Do you eat breakfast daily?
I certainly too. Usually it is a poached egg on wholegrain toast wtih, of course, real butter. And a glass of orange juice.
Are your days full and fast-paced?
They are at the moment but I don't like it.
Did you ever get in trouble for talking in class?
Bwahahahahaha! Yes. I almost got suspended for it a few times. In one memorable Latin class (which took place in a teeny room as there were only about 15 of us in the Leaving Cert Latin class) my friend Miriam kept pointing at various images on my folder (which i had decorated with a collage of many kitschy pictures) and saying "nice feather boa/hat/whatever" in a lugubrious voice. As we were sitting directly in front of the teacher I managed not to actually laugh out loud until, after a long pause, she pointed at the bespectacled elephant in the Banana Splits and said, "nice....binoculars". Somehow this sent me over the edge and I laughed uncontrollably for what seemed like about ten minutes, while our fearsome Latin teacher raged at both of us about how we were always "grinning and smirking" and it was disgraceful. She quite liked the two of us really, and when we left school we gave her a t-shirt we had actually had specially printed which bore a picture of her hero Aeneas above the words "AENEAS: A MAN WITH A MISSION", which was her favourite description of the Trojan hero.
What is your favourite fruit?
Do you pay attention to calories on the back of packages?
No, apart from sandwiches, for some reason. It's scary to realise that they're more fatty than a big plate of lasagne.
How old will you be turning on your next birthday?
Are you picky about spelling and grammar?
Do you believe in life on other planets?
I really don't care.
Have you ever been to Six Flags?

The same, although I do get on with nice men too.
What did you dress up as for your first Halloween?
God knows. There is probably photographic evidence somewhere.
How did your parents pick your name?
Embarrassingly enough, because a cheesy song of the same name was going around in my mother's head. At least, that's what she says.
Do you like mustard?
Because I am epicurially challenged, I love that yellow hotdog mustard when mixed with ketchup. The most beautiful taste in the world.

I usually just cry pitifully. Oh, all right, I sometimes tell myself that things could be much worse - the usual cliches.
Would you ever sky dive?
Do you sleep on your side, tummy, or back?
Side, but I sometimes wake up lying on my back with my arms stretched over my head, so obviously I move around a lot while slumbering.

I can't think of anyone, actually.
Do you enjoy giving hugs?
Depends on the hugee.
Would you consider yourself to be fashionable?
Not slavishly, no.

Physically? Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Who is your favourite Star Wars character?
Does it annoy you when someone says they'll call but never do?

More or less.
What are you allergic to?
Pollen and some cats.
What's your opinion on sex without emotional commitment?

Never, although if I ate lamb while a little fluffy lamby was staring at me I might.
