Princess Arjumand's recovery is going well. So well, in fact, that she's already ripping up envelopes (one of her favourite hobbies) in the kitchen, where she was caught in the act on camera. Behold the little earless mutant!

As you can see, lack of ears has not dimished her surliness. Hurrah!

Hee, she has more ears than I imagined she would have, too. And it's good to know about other thriving ear-free felines!

Awww, poor Princess Ju! But behold her triumphal crown1

Oh no, THE CONE!

We've started calling her Coney Island...

All hail Princess JuJu, her mighty crown (and her mighty frown)!
Oct. 22nd, 2006 06:58 pm (UTC)
Hee, I'm not sure which is mightier (I suspect it's the frown)...
Oct. 20th, 2006 04:34 pm (UTC)
Oh, she looks truly regal! And surly.
Oct. 22nd, 2006 06:59 pm (UTC)
Hee, it's a kind of terrifying combination...

I suppose I should pity the poor earless thing, but animals in cones ALWAYS make me laugh. I am powerless against the humor of the cone! And as someone said above, she has more ears than I expected.

It sometimes makes me laugh too! She looks so enraged!

She certainly does! Although she absolutely hates her ruff...

och bless her! she's looking grand.

Awww! Nice to see she looks as sullen and grumpy as ever :)

I could probably dig up pictures from when Lucky had a lampshade collar on, he had a similarly disgusted look.

Aw, poor sweetie. She looks so cross! She looks better than I thought she would, but still, how awful! Poor JuJu!
Oct. 20th, 2006 07:11 pm (UTC)
i have never seen a cat look as pissed off.
Oct. 20th, 2006 07:47 pm (UTC)
Oh, she's not too earless. And she clearly didn't keep any of her personality in the tips of her ears, either.

Hooray for Ju Ju, Destroyer of Envelopes!

My mother suggests putting sunblock on her earlets, BTW, every day she goes outside. That should protect her from further harm.

She really is queen of all she surveys! (Er, Ju Ju, not my mother).

The cat we had when I was very little had one big ear and one little ear, because he had had some sort of ear infection.

Glad yours is doing better now. They hate those plastic collars, don't they?

Oh, poor thing. She does look grumpy, but I suppose if my ears were removed I wouldn't be thrilled either.

It probably hurts, they're probably full of nerves, but in time she should feel only phantom ears and a certain puzzlement when washing the top of her head. She doesn't look earless, only somewhat cropped - but I'm used to seeing Scotch folds and cats who've lost ear bits to frostbite - and still very catlike and very much herself.

Be of good cheer, oh polar-panda Ju Ju! Your family saved you and you can go back to rolling over the lovely Cath Kidston duvet. Wear sunscreen.

Oh, they haven't removed as much as I'd imagined! Poor Ju Ju, though - if not for her ears, then for having to wear that collar. How can she possibly enjoy her envelope-ripping properly, if she has to have that round her neck? No wonder she's cross! :-)

Poor Ju Ju! But at least they had the decency to co-ordinate the cone with your outfit!

Hope you and P. are also feeling better and less shaky about it all. What a horrible thing to have happened.

The poor little pidge, hope she is well on her way to recovery. Disco Fred has had a mad skin thing recently that he gets from time to time and tears chunks out of himself with scratching. It's a weird allergy the vet can't figure out. He's better now and was back to jumping in to the Liffey to in the Memorial Gardens to retrieve tennis balls.

The envelope tearing is a good sing - get well Ju-ju!
