It's a Saturday morning, and I feel strangely productive. I was up by nine and pottering around the kitchen listening to Radio 4 (seriously, spending large parts of the day pottering about the kitchen listening to Radio 4 is the the thing I miss most since starting to work in an office). As well as the actual live radio, I've just listened to a fantastic programme that was on last week about Red Wedge while doing the dusting and an insanely camp adaptation of a Raffles story which involved both Raffles and Bunny donning drag and engaging in their usual homoerotic banter while doing the washing up. Wonderful! Housework isn't so bad with a bit of radio entertainment. Now for some knitting...

Red Wedge! Oh, how vital and earth-shaky they seemed! That was a really good programme, thanks for the link!

I can't find the Raffles story, though, whereabouts is it? (And at first I thought it was a story about them doing the washing up!)

You can hear Raffles and Bunny exhange sweet nothings here! But hurry - it will only be available until tomorrow morning.

And the Red Wedge programme was really great, wasn't it? And rather touching, too - I can't imagine it happening today. I was vaguely aware of it in '87, being 12, but I do remember the NME at the next election in '92 having VOTE LABOUR on pretty much every page for the weeks leading up to the big day - even with a better Labour party, I can't imagine today's glitzy, glossy NME doing anything like that now.
