bear ears triumphant! for now.

Patsington has taken a certain be-bonneted freak to the vet and Ju Ju is fine! The vet thinks she must be allergic to something in the air, because looking back at the records he saw that she always develops some sort of inflamation at this time of year. Thanks for all your good wishes! Ungrateful Ju Ju, however, expressed her appreciation of our kindness and care for her health by pissing in her travelling box en route to the surgery, so apparently our car now smells of wee. There's no pleasing some felines.

Hurrah! Except for the car smelling of wee. But hurrah that Ju Ju is ok.

She's usually so forgetful that she doesn't remember that she dislikes the travelling box until she's actually in it. But apparently the memories of her recent travels (my friend barsine looked after her while we were on holiday) are still strong, and when P brought in the box from the shed she ran off and had to be captured and squeezed into it. So I think the wee was a form of dirty protest.

Aww, I'm glad she's OK.

Woot! She's okay! What a relief.

But erm, no woot for the wee, though for all the injustices visited upon her (like the afore mentioned bonnet), I'm sure she feels that the wee is minor payback.

Yeah, she likes to show her displeasure in the form of, um, bodily excretions (she's been known, when very, very annoyed, to very deliberately get in her litter box, stick her bum over the side, and do a poo). What a classy feline she is!

I love that your "Ju Ju is ok!" updates are always accompanied by some example of egregious behaviour. I don't think I'd believe that she was really fine if they weren't!

My thoughts exactly -- the only thing lacking is a picture of her looking murderous at the vet or in the car.

Murderous, eh? You mean like this?

Hee, I know - she's bold, therefore she is!

Ah thank goodness! Disco Fred had a freaky eye wart removed recently and it got me all scared. Glad to hear her highness is ok. :)

Thanks! Good to hear that Disco Fred is thriving too. Pet health scares are always horrible.

That's such a relief - I'm glad that she's ok.

Boo to the smell, though! Muffin sometimes does that when going to the vet's, too. I've never been sure whether it's because he's worried or annoyed. Either way, they really do need to learn that we're doing this for their own good....

Heh. My dad visited my house about a year ago and would spend every morning petting our cat Calvin for, like, an hour while Jeff and I were still asleep. He did this two mornings in a row and Calvin rewarded him by knocking his toothbrush into the litter box.
