open up, make room for me

Apparently I am too frazzled with work at the moment to do a proper post, but not too frazzled to partake in a nostalgic music meme, as stolen from jinxremoving! Note that I never really throw music away, so although the meme includes both "own" and "used to own", I don't listen to some of these albums very often these days, although I don't look back and cringe at any of them with the possible exception of Siamese Dream. Also, in the majority of cases the words "because I taped it off someone" should come after "own".

This is Acclaimed Music's aggregate list of the top 107 albums of the 1990s (as of now) as created from lots of other lists. [Actually, Acclaimed's list goes up to 200, but I'm resisting the urge to do lots of copying & pasting.] Put any that you own in bold. Put any that you used to own in italics. Put a strikethrough any that you hate. Underline any you want to hear. And put an asterisk by any that you would count as one of your own favourite albums of the 90s.

1 Nirvana - Nevermind 1991*
2 Radiohead - OK Computer 1997* It came out the day before I went to Boston for the summer and I first heard it on my walkman flying over the Atlantic

I sneered at this for being dancy when leedy brought it home. After one listen I was hooked.

I believe you sneered at it for being dancy WHILE IT WAS PLAYING - it took more than "one listen"! And you mocked me for going to see them in the SFX, then a week later wished you'd gone....

One listen on my own, I meant! And you are right, I did mock. I was a fool!
