nosy parker

Because I am nosy, and genuinely interested in the many styles of my LJ pals:

What are you wearing today?

And no, I don't want to know about your underwear.

I am currently sporting a snug sky-blue velour jumper (sweater to you North Americans) with tiny red and white stripes on it, along with a short, fawn-coloured A-line needle-cord skirt with two thin lines of cord frills running down the front. Oh, and sky-blue Birkenstock sandals. In short, I look, at first glance, like a 1940s child on holiday.

Und du?

A floral-print short-sleeved shirt from Old Navy, a pair of Eddie Bauer khaki capris, black loafers, and grey socks. I'm fully cognizant of the fact that I don't match, but I didn't want to get wet feet, and I couldn't find my brown loafers.

Er. Blue cord flares, a black t-shirt with "Elvis" on the front in pink, and a black hoodie. And weird shoes. It's a university day.

All dressed up today for some reason (well, dressed-er up anyway)
Starting at the bottom, four-inch half-length black platform boots with sort of ridges up along the front, bright blue argyle knee socks, a navy denim skirt-made-from-a-pair-of-jeans, cute lavender, grey and white striped shirt from Miss Selfridges, and pale indigo v-necked three-quarter-sleeve jumper i bought this morning in A-Wear cos i couldn't find anything else. Oh, and a glittery cowboy hat.

Dark green and tan Camper-esque-but-not-Camper trainers. The jeans I made a couple of weeks ago, which are still dark denim because I haven't got around to bleaching/distressing them yet. And a tight, slash-neck, dark pink and beige and sparkly striped top from [whispers] Jigsaw Uth.

(I should point out that this is unusual - I don't often go around in Jigsaw Uth clothing. I'm wearing extra-nice clothes the way I always do when I get my haircut, because hairdressers are all so damn trendy!)

I love knowing what other people are wearing, too. If I could afford to have a paid account, I'd change the "Music" setting to an "Outfit" setting. I'm never listening to anything because I'm always in a university computer room, and my clothes are a much better indicator of my mood.

It's a ratty boho day: very old brown Birkenstocks, pink and purple paisley stretch knee-length skirt, burgundy vest. And a tan, and a pair of glasses. Because I am in Deutschland, no jumper, hurrah!

Knee length black skirt (Old Navy), black tank top, light blue velour hoodie, wedge sandals.

Man, I am a booorrring dresser.

Hey, as someone else who is working the blue velour look today, I think your outfit sounds excellent.

Two-year-old faded, rather loose, flared Bluenotes jeans with the hems ripped off (too long, got caught under shoe-heels). Rusty-red Mendocino T-shirt, a bit of white lace ribbon around the V-neck, former long sleeves hacked off to cap-length with a pair of sewing scissors.

When I go out I'll wear my Steve Madden burgundy trainers because those are the only shoes I have here.

I am Steve Madden's bitch, and he is my pimp daddy. That is all.

Very boring
Nothing exciting or trendy here, I'm afraid. My favorite black Ann Taylor "Scully suit" with three button jacket, powder blue button up blouse, black chunky-heeled loafers with no socks and flashy silver jewelry. Typical work-day wear, I suppose!

Re: Very boring
Someday, I will be able to afford Ann Taylor. I love her stuff, it's so simple and elegant.

Erm, a just below knee-length stretchy dark olive skirt and a madly striped strappy tank top (red, yellow, green etc). Shoes, because I'm at work - brown wedgie slip-on sandals. And earrings for the first time in months - big silver hoops.
Jul. 23rd, 2003 07:45 am (UTC)
Brown leather-like open-toed sandals, black dress pants, light blue tank top under a short-sleeved periwinkle blue blouse, black cardigan. Lovely peachy-pink Tensor bandage around right wrist and forearm.

V-neck cotton sleeveless flowered dress that my mum bought for me and sent me for an Easter present or something equally bizarre a couple years ago. It's aqua with white, yellow and blue flowers, kind of vintage-looking but actually from Old Navy. When I leave the house I'll put on my cute Dansko walking sandals that I wear almost every day.

Almost the same thing I was wearing last time I posted my outfit in my journal, oddly enough. White ribbed tank top under black sweater with elbow sleeves, dark denim jeans, black sandals. Silver hoop earrings, silver necklace with green amber pendant, watch, wedding ring.
Jul. 23rd, 2003 08:33 am (UTC)
Hmmm, black men's tank top from the Gap that I got for $4 (whee sale!), hugely oversized olive green cargo capris, and new Adidas Sambas that I'm breaking in.
Jul. 23rd, 2003 09:13 am (UTC)
I am work-clad - black, flared-but-still-acceptable-in-the-office trousers (from H&M), bright red, long sleeved top with slash neckline (from Zara in Lisbon), and sadly scuffed but still cute mary jane type shoes (from Schuh). And, as always, my Skagen watch and black amber pendant. Oh, and my big scary tortoiseshell glasses, twice mended with superglue (Jai Kudo), and I was wearing little sparkly clippy things, but I've taken them out now.

I wish you'd asked yesterday, as I was looking way cooler.

Ah, Zara. They just opened their first store in Toronto a couple of years ago. Similar to Jacob (my favourite Canadian clothing chain), I find them. I've been shopping in there but never bought anything.
