Okay, my computer is probably going to shut down again, but before it does, I'll be gthe technically minded among you for help. I haven't used my laptop for a few days, and today when I go online, after a few minutes it announces that NT Authority\system is forced to restart the computer automatically. And it does, giving a minute to save anything that needs to be saved. When I did a search, there was no such folder as NT Authority. What the hell is going on? Anyone? Bueller? It's not doing this when I'm not online, by the way.

Have a peek here - there's a worm doing the rounds with these symptoms.

Thanks! That's definitely it. But I'm afraid I don't really understand the fixing instructions; the update links seems to be more preventative than a cure, but that could be just my technical ignorance.

CERT have released another advisory - here it is - which goes into a little bit more detail about exactly what to do; it also links to instructions from Trend and Symantec to remove the worm. Trend's seemed, to me, to be the slightly more comprehensible.

Best of luck!
