why i shouldn't be allowed watch sad films

To add to my last entry, and to confess how much of a sap I really am: I was really tired when watching Lilo and Stitch, and had meant to watch just part of it and leave the rest until the morning, but I was snuffling (read: crying like a baby) so much at the bit in the forest when he's clutching his book and looking all sad ("I'm lost!" Waaaaaaaaah!) that I actually had to watch until the end, because I needed a happy ending after all that. Yes, I am a fool.

To help you feel better about snuffling, I hope - this 41-year-old Amurrikan will "snuffle" (and, if dear_hubby isn't watching with, cry like a baby) during the "crunch" bits of Apollo 13.

How totally uncool is that? :}

Me too! I ended up watching it twice because I saw it first on Friday night after our gig in Glaway - we were staying in the house of a promoter, Gugai, who has a small stepdaughter, and I went home early and ended up watching it. I was raving about it the next morning - to Gugai's delight, because it's now his favourite film - and so last night when we got home Patrick got it out on video. And I cried even more then! Like, bright red nose, red eyes, the works!

Hmmm. Now I'm sort of afraid to watch it, because I am an uber-sap at the sad bits of films. (Exhibit A: the original The Incredible Journey, at the end when the little boy thinks the old dog has died and hasn't made it back with the others and then he comes across the field after all, and I'm honestly tearing up right now just thinking about it).

Oh, then you'd bawl at this. Seriously, Patrick very rarely cries during films, but he was wiping away the tears during once almost unbearably poignant scene (the book! Oh, I'm just tearing up thinking about it). But it's very, very funny, and ridiculously charming. I loved it.

OK, you guys are almost tempting me to see this. I normally avoid Disney like the plague, but I adored Pirates of the Caribbean, so perhaps I should just get over my slightly irrational prejudice.
